¡¡¡¡Transportation:Changde city is situated in the northwest of Hunan province,the middle and lower reaches of Yuanjiang and Lishui River,near Dongting Lake on the east,bordering Hubei province on the north,adjacent to the national forest park Zhangjiajie on the west and Changsha,the capital city of Hunan province on the south,traditionally called the throat and gate to the southwest of China.Changde is planned to be one of the 60 hub cities of communications in China and 6 expres sways will meet here.It takes only 2 hours from Changde to Changsha by bus through Changde-Changsha expressway,1.5 hours to the national forest park through Changde-Zhangjiaje expressway under construction which will be open to traffic in 2005.Before 2010,Changde-Yueyang expressway,Changde-Jingzhou expressway,Changde-Shaoyang expressway will be open to traffic and then it takes 2 hours from Changde to Yueyang,Shaoyang,Jishou and Hubei province by bus.The total mileage in Changde is 13000 km and there are 33km long road in every 100 square km and the high class roads go to every county and district and the one-hour economic ring is formed in Changde city.Every township and 98 per cent of villages in Changde have road service.The national highway 319 runs through the east and west of Changde city and connects with Beijing-Guangzhou Railway,the national highway 207 passest¡¡hrough the north and south of Changde and connect Fujian province and Sichuan province.On waterway,it is accessible to 4 water systems of Xianjiang River,Zijiang River,Yuanjiang River and Lishui River,and Dongting Lake and to Changjiang River directly.Changde has five transportation services of road,water way,railway,air and pipeline and the vertical transport network of road,water,railway,air,pipeline,port and through transport has been formed,which ranks at the forefront in Hunan province.ª¥
¡¡¡¡Beneficial to the tourism spots development.Changde city,the largest central city in the northwest of Hunan province,is the back garden of Changsha,the provincial capital city,and the logistics base of the national forest park-Zhangjiajie.As the local economy grows fast and the highway network is formed,the tourism by bus will increase sharply. If the highway around Changde city can't be constructed,the traffic volume inside the city will increase abruptly and serious traffic jam will take place.And the tourism development will be affected.ª¥
