¡¡¡¡Being approved by Changde City Government, Changde Zhilan Experimental School was founded in 1998. It is an experimental school with complete closed management, high start point, high standard including primary school, junior middle school and senior middle school. Its running follows the principle of state ownership and private operation, responsibility by the president, self-raising fund and independent management of school. The school lies on the north of Langzhou road of Changde city proper. It is adjacent to the charming tourist spot Liuyehu Lake on the east and the busy railway station on the north. High density of the population and convenient transportation make it an ideal location for school. The school covers an area of 10.54 hectares with 49 classes and 2700 students in the school.ª¤
¡¡¡¡Advantages of the project:
¡¡¡¡1. The scale of the school is large. The planned total investment is around USD12.1 million and USD 7.9 million have been invested for the floor area of 50 thousand square meters including teaching buildings, scientific research buildings, students' and teachers' apartment and dining hall for staff and students. There are two high-level multimedia classrooms, which can accommodate 300 students each. An audio-visual education center, a computer room, a phonetic room, a library, a reading room, a physical and chemical laboratory, a science and technology activity room, an art center and a physique gym room etc are available in the buildings. An astronomical observation center with the cost of USD 40 thousand stands on the top of the teaching building. All the 3 students' apartments that are equipped with air-conditioners can accommodate 2500 students. Heat water and cold water is available all around the clock. There are also an international standard soccer field, a basketball field, badminton field, children's amusement park and a 400-m standard plastic track and field, providing an excellent environment for body-building. A new style sports field can accommodate 1800 students to watch sports match at the same time. And a modern dinning room can accommodate 2500 students to dine at the same time. 4.2 million USD are needed for building anart gallery, a library, a natatorium, an office building and a gymnasium.ª¥
¡¡¡¡2. High qualified teachers: there are 156 professional teachers including 3 special classification teachers, 28 high classification teachers. Out of the 144 teachers from the middle school department, 118 teachers hold bachelor's degree with the degree-qualification rate being 85 percent. All the teachers from primary school department are college graduates.ª¥
¡¡¡¡3. Great economic returns: With the strict management and excellent service, the school has made a great success in the past 5 years. Students of grade 3 in the senior middle school get first in the national Olympic contest for 3 consecutive years in Changde.
