¡¡¡¡Site: The factory, located in Taizimiao Industrial Park, covers an area of 26.6 hectares and lies on the national highway 319 and Changsha-Changde expressway and is only 1 km away from the freight railway station with advantageous geological position and convenient traffic. ª¥
¡¡¡¡Nature: New construction ª¥
¡¡¡¡Scale: The total investment is 13.670 million USD. The product scheme includes medium density fiberboard of an annual output of 200 thousand. The product density is 640-800kg/.
¡¡¡¡The medium density fiberboard reaches the European standard (EMB/PS/MDP: 1997) and Chinese state standard (GB/T11718-1999)ª¥
¡¡¡¡Project:ª¥
¡¡¡¡A kind of artificial board is made through the processes of fiber preparation, glue and wax applying, forming, heat-pressing and so on by taking the wood (or other plants) fiber as the raw material. It is widely used as the partition wall of a house, partition board, housing of electrical home appliances, reinforced floor material, music instrument material, indoor decoration material and furniture material. It has a wide market demand. Its feasibility report was ratified by Changde Development Planning Commission and its land was requisitioned and its environmental protection evaluation report was approved by Changde Environment Protection Bureau. A share-holding limited company with the registered capital of 3.75 million USD was set up in the form of EJV by Changde Wuling Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. and Changde Debao Scientific and Technology Co. Ltd. The formeris in charge of the pre-stage work of the project.ª¤
¡¡¡¡Market:ª¥
¡¡¡¡The board production in China is started quite late but developed rapidly. At present, 407 production enterprises for the fiberboard have been constructed or are being constructed. There are 517 production lines of the medium density fiberboard. ª¥
¡¡¡¡China is quite poor in forest resource. Its resource structure is irrational. In order to protect ecological environment and raise forest coverage, the natural forest protection engineering was initialized by the state in 1998 and the felling of the natural forest is prohibited. At present the annual shortage of the wood supply and demand is 40 million.
¡¡¡¡It is estimated in ¡°Chinese Green Times¡± that the annual shortage will reach 60 million by 2010. One of the solutions to the shortage of wood is to develop the substitution wood on a large scale,which will bring about development opportunities for the artificial board industry.ª¥
¡¡¡¡According to the analysis by the authorities that ª¥
¡¡¡¡¡ª¡ªThe residential housing area in the city and township will develop at an annual speed of 500 million £e during the ¡°Tenth Five Year Plan¡± period in order to realize the well-off housing target in our country. ª¥
¡¡¡¡¡ª¡ªThe present housing area for 900 million farmers is about 20 billion and will develop at an annual speed of 1 billion in the future, which will consume the medium density fiberboard of 2200 thousand annually.¡ª¡ªNearly 200 thousand hotels and restaurants with the total area of about 15 million ©Owill be constructed and 1600 hotels and restaurants with 400 thousand rooms about 30 million £u will be re-decorated and furnished with new furniture to some extent during the ¡°Ninth Five Year Plan¡± period in the whole country. The medium density fiberboard of about 800 thousand £e will be consumed annually for the above items.
¡¡¡¡¡ª¡ªThe new construction of different office, culture, physical training, recreation and tourist facilities is 120 million ©Oduring the ¡° Ninth Five Year Plan¡± period in the cites and townships of the whole country and the medium density fiberboard of 8 million £e will be consumed annually.
¡¡¡¡¡ª¡ªAt present, there are 14 million commercial facilities, 200 thousand cultural recreational places and 210 thousand hotels and restaurants in the whole country and they will be decorated and renovated gradually, for which the medium density fiberboard of about 12 million £e will be consumed annually. ª¥
¡¡¡¡¡ª¡ªThe production and export of our furniture will increase steadily at the annual rate of 10%, which will consume the medium density fiberboard of over 5 million £e. To sum up, the consumption volume of the medium density fiberboard for the indoor decoration and the manufacturing of furniture will reach 38 million £e annually in the future in our country, but our present designed production capability of the medium density fiberboard is about 20 million £e. So the market for the medium density fiberboard has a great potential.ª¤
¡¡¡¡Resource:ª¥
¡¡¡¡The main raw material used to produce the medium density fiberboard is the fast growing material of the artificial fast growing high yield plantation, fuel forest, felling and planting residues, middle or young intermittent felling materialand timber- processing residues, which can be utilized comprehensively. The annual demand for the above-mentioned raw material is about 360 thousand. The present forest land in Changde city is 754 thousand hectares and the reserves volume of the growing stock is 13.38 million £e and the forest coverage ratio is 40.71£¥. Since the development of fast growing high yield forest is encouraged by our country, Changde city has performed ¡°high yield artificial poplar of 400 thousand hectares¡± engineering and the poplar area has reached 100 thousand hectares by now. The growing middle and young intermittent felling materials and timber-processing residues of about 400 thousand have not been used sufficiently and rationally. During the ¡°Tenth Five Year Plan¡± period, the poplar industrialization will become one of the five mainstay industries in the whole city. By 2005, the best quality poplar area will be 1.33 million hectares in the whole city and the annual output value of the whole poplar industry will reach over 250 million USD. So the raw material for the project can be guaranteed sufficiently. ª¤
¡¡¡¡Production Elements:ª¥
¡¡¡¡Water resource The daily water consumption volume of this project is about 1800£e. There is a tap water pipeline net near the factory with abundant water, which can be used as the water source in the factory. On the other hand, a fire fighting water pool of 1 thousand £e can be built to meet the water demand for production and fire fighting, or a water pumping station can be built by itself to pump water from the river nearby. So, there is no problem for water source. ª¥
¡¡¡¡Electric power resource ª¥This project is to be built in the Taizimiao development area of Changde city. There is a 220 KV transformer substation near the factory site where the power supply can be introduced for the project through the special line. The substation is about 1km away from the factory site and it has sufficient electricity capability to meet the demand for the project.ª¥
¡¡¡¡Heat-supplying engineering and fuel The heat volume used in this project is 31.9 Gcal/h. It is designed that three sets of chain boilers with the vapor volume of 10t/h (SZL10-1.6-AII) and one set of hot oil furnace of 1.60 million Kcal/h are employed to meet the heat-supply. Meanwhile, the recycling of waste materials is considered comprehensively in the production to raise environment quality and reduce production cost ª¥Auxiliary material ª¥After the project is put into operation, the formaldehyde for the production of glue materials can be supplied by the related factories in Hunan province. The urea, ammonia chloride, sodium hydroxide, paraffin and ammonia water are available on the market and there is no problem for chemical material. ª¤
¡¡¡¡Advantage:ª¥
¡¡¡¡Changde is located in a very important geological position with beautiful landscape, developed communication, healthy development of national economy and gradual perfection of basic traffic facilities. Two national highways 319 and 207 run through the whole city. Changsha-Changde expressway is open. Changde-Zhangjiajie expressway is under construction. According to the ¡° Tenth Five Year Plan¡± of the state, Changde is one of the 60 hub cities of communications and there will be six expressways to cross at the suburbs of Changde city. Shimen-Changsha railway connecting Zhicheng-Liuzhou railway and Beijing-Guangzhou railway runs through the whole territory of Changde city. The Boeing 737 and 757 big passenger airplanes can land and take off at Taohuayuan Airport 9 km away southwest of Changde city and seven flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Haikou have been open to traffic. There are 36 docks along Yuanshui river and Lishui river flowing within Changde city, including two wharfs of 500-tonnage and one wharf of 1000-tonnage in Changde port. It is accessible to Changsha on the south and Yueyang on the north on waterway, and to Chongqing upward and Shanghai downward through Dongting lake into Yangtze River. A three-dimensional transportation network of highway, railway, airline and water has been formed in Changde city. With the gradual perfection of comprehensive transportation system, Changde will become a traffic hub that connects Hunan province, Hubei province, Guizhou province and Chongqing municipality and a forward position in the large western development. So, it is quite convenient to transport raw material and finished products. ª¥
¡¡¡¡The service organization for export-oriented economy in Changde is perfect, including foreign trade and economic cooperation, customs, import and export inspection and quarantine, foreign exchange control and export freight through transport, which will provide sound service for the project. The undertaker project has set up a quite complete business management system during the past operation, a high quality management team and trained many capable people for marketing. ª¥

¡¡¡¡The total investment is 13.67 million USD, including the fixed assets of 11.49 million USD, interest 230 thousand USD during its construction period and its working capital of 1.95 million USD. ª¥
¡¡¡¡After the project is put into operation, 8-20 mm thick medium density fiberboard of 200 thousand £e can be produced annually. It is estimated that the annual sales income of 31.25 million USD, sales profit of 4.68 million USD and sales tax and surcharge of 2.06 million USD, investment profit ratio 32.91% and investment tax ratio 41.39% can be achieved with the investment return period being 4.43 years (after income tax) and the financial internal benefit ratio 29.90% (after income tax).ª¤
